In recent times Sunflower Medical Furniture has been asked to undertake more and more work both directly and indirectly in hospitals. We have worked as subcontractors and main contractors in these projects. We are also used to working with architects and undertaking tendering work .
In 2012 Sunflower Medical Ltd tendered for and won a project to design specialist operating theatre furniture for the world renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital in London UK. The project involved working closely with the hospital projects team and clinical staff to design a specific solution for each environment. Key design criteria were infection control performance, optimisation of storage, mobility, longevity. These were areas where the existing solution had failed.
Sunflower utilised it extensive CAD / CAM technology and experienced design team to produce a range of solutions that were 100% on time and satisfied the design criteria fully. The project team leader described Sunflower as "the model supplier others should aspire to be like."

Sunflower Medical has successfully supplied a run of larder units to Ward 29 at York District Hospital. The units are for the storage of Medicines, Fluids, Creams, Lotions and items for Catheterisation. Coming from Sunflower's gloss white medical furniture range the units were supplied in two weeks from order to delivery. Care was taken during the design phase to ensure that the cabinets, which are designed specifically for medical environments, are durable and easy to clean and meet infection control requirements. This medical storage solution allows the nurses to have the opportunity to control and organise their supplies in a more efficient and hygienic environment. Sister Lee Conway commented "these ward cabinets are a major improvement to our storage area and help the efficient running of the ward. It is fair to say we don't like them. we love them!!"

Sunflower Medical recently undertook a successful complete renewal of nationally renowned hair transplant surgeon Dr Shahmalak's new Manchester Clinic.
Dr Shahmalak has previously undertaken work for celebrities such as Dr Christian Jessen from TV programme "Embarrassing Bodies" and he was keen to have a high quality environment meeting CQC guidelines.
Sunflower designed the room using its advanced CAD modelling and using architects plans before Dr Shahmalak had even signed the lease so he was confident the room would be ideal for his needs.
